REIV recognises best practice in Victorian real estate

Date: 23 Oct 15

The Real Estate Institute of Victoria has awarded the industry’s best performers for 2015, paying tribute to the agencies and professionals who are setting new benchmarks of customer service excellence.

The REIV Awards for Excellence this year attracted a record number of nominations across several award categories. A ceremony last night at Crown Palladium was attended by real estate agents from throughout Victoria.

“These annual awards are an industry highlight and acknowledge the hard work and effort that our members put in throughout the year to achieve the best results for their clients and the property industry,” said REIV chief executive officer Enzo Raimondo.

“Importantly, these awards also recognise the agents and their businesses who are constantly raising the bar – lifting professional standards to the highest levels and contributing to best practice in real estate sales and management.”

Winners in this year’s awards included:

  • Commercial Agency of the Year: CBRE

  • Large Residential Agency of the Year: Nelson Alexander Pty Ltd

  • Residential Sales Person of the Year (Principals): Jeremy Rosens, Gary Peer & Associates (St Kilda) Pty Ltd

  • Residential Salesperson of the Year (non-Principals): Adam Joske, Leon Gouzenfiter (both with Gary Peer & Associates Pty Ltd)

  • Buyer’s Agent of the Year: Frank Valentic, Advantage Property Consulting Pty Ltd

  • Outstanding Young Agent of the Year: Todd Lucas, Fletchers

  • Rural Marketing Award: Inglis Rural Property.

Final contenders were selected by judges who are industry representatives, Mr Raimondo said. “The winners and finalists across the different categories are all leaders in their specialist areas. Entrants need to demonstrate that they meet or exceed industry best-practice standards,” said Mr Raimondo.

The 2015 awards also recognised the tireless dedication of Ian Armstrong, who was granted an Honorary Life Membership for his service to the real estate profession in Victoria.

“Mr Armstrong has been an active member of the REIV for more than 40 years, and during that time he has served on numerous Board, Division and Chapter Committees, including as President of the REIV in 1988-89. We are honored to induct Mr Armstrong as a life member,” Mr Raimondo said.

The REIV President’s Award for 2014 was presented to Neil Laws, who has also served as a President of the REIV (2007-08) and on a number of committees, including the Auction Chapter Committee.
