REIV Senior Auctioneer of the Year Paul Tzamalis has sold a lot of properties in his 10-year career, but none more important than the Good Friday Appeal Charity Home.

A four-bedroom Henley Vogue 34 home at Villawood’s flagship Redstone community in Sunbury will go under Mr Tzamalis’ hammer. The 7.1 energy-star-rated house is set to raise much needed funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital’s (RCH) Good Friday Appeal.

Last year’s Good Friday Appeal Charity Auction House in Wollert sold for a record $903,000, taking Henley’s RCH donations to more than $17 million over the past 30 years.

Mr Tzamalis said it gives him a strong sense of professional pride and personal responsibility in auctioning the Charity Home.

“On it’s own, the REIV Senior Auctioneer of the Year is a coveted accolade among my peers but it’s importance is reinforced by the honour of calling the charity house auction for the children’s hospital,” Mr Tzamalis said.

“After a few years as a sales agent, in 2017 I chose to focus on pursuing my passion as an auctioneer. I felt I could make a difference at one of the most important moments in a person’s life. Real estate is a people business, inextricably entwined with emotions and livelihoods. To be able to share in important moment like this, where your efforts help someone fulfil a dream, is something I am truly grateful for.”

REIV President and career auctioneer Adam Docking said:

“The quality of competitors demonstrates that our sector attracts outstanding professionals with admirable talents. Real estate is a competitive profession, and it is pleasing to see Members investing time to continually enhance their skills.

“What’s also clear is the desire to make a positive impact – the opportunity to run an auction for the Royal Children’s Hospital is a privilege because of the major contribution to community it enables.”

About Paul Tzamalis:

An REIV Member for almost 10 years, Paul never considered real estate as a career growing up, but some sage advice from his mum led him into the industry.

He did his apprenticeship with CBRE and during his time there, colleagues encouraged him to try auctioneering and the rest is history. He took the plunge and started The Auction Company in 2017, building it from an idea to what it is today.

He’s been inspired by his uncle, who once told him to find what he loves and become the best at it. He strives to do that every day.
