Michelle is a Special Counsel in the financial lines insurance team at Carter Newell and has acted for a wide range of professionals and organisations including real estate agents, body corporates, strata managers, resident unit managers, auctioneers, financial service providers, medical professionals, job service providers, not-for-profit organisations, colleges, church groups, childcare centres and hospitality service providers. Michelle has experience in all aspects of professional negligence and disciplinary proceedings including claims involving misrepresentation, defamation, fraud and fidelity, personal injury, consumer law actions and contractual disputes. She also has a special interest in employment practices liability claims and has represented employers before the Australian Human Rights Commission and Anti-Discrimination Commission of Queensland in respect of sexual harassment and discrimination claims, as well as actions pertaining to bullying, harassment, wrongful dismissal, sham contracting and claims alleging underpayment of statutory entitlements before the Fair Work Commission, the Federal Circuit Court and the Federal Court of Australia.
