Novice Auctioneering Competition 2026

The REIV Novice Auctioneering Competition is the ideal starting point for new auctioneers ready to test their skills in a professional, live competition environment.

Held annually, the competition is open to auctioneers who have been calling public auctions for less than 12 months and have conducted no more than 20 public auctions. It provides a structured and supportive platform to build confidence, strengthen technique and gain recognition early in your career.

Whether you are stepping up for the first time or encouraging emerging talent within your office, the REIV Novice Competition is where Victoria’s next generation of auctioneers begin.

PATHWAY TO ANAC

The top two competitors will progress to the 2027 Australasian Novice Auctioneering Competition — the national stage for emerging auctioneering talent across Australia and New Zealand.

Conducted in conjunction with the Real Estate Institute of Australia (REIA) and the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand (REINZ), the Australasian Novice Competition brings together leading first-year auctioneers from each state and New Zealand.

This championship environment tests composure, control and technical skill – providing invaluable experience early in an auctioneer’s career.
