About Wendy
Wendy Thomson is a nationally recognised commercial property educator, consultant, and industry leader with more than 35 years’ experience across sales, leasing, management, and professional training. As Founder and Director of the Australian Academy of Property, Wendy partners with agencies, owners, and industry bodies to raise professional standards and simplify the way commercial property is delivered and operated. Drawing on her deep operational and governance experience, she designs and delivers programs that blend compliance, risk management, and practical know-how — equipping property professionals to perform with clarity and confidence. A licensed real estate agent and accredited trainer, Wendy previously served as General Manager – Victoria at Burgess Rawson, where she led strategic growth and capability initiatives across the state. Her earlier career as an agency owner further grounds her approach in the realities of business, people, and performance. Wendy has contributed extensively to industry development through her work as a past REIV commercial trainer, long-serving TAFE Board President, and current member of a Victorian Government advisory panel. Her leadership through the Australian Academy of Property continues to influence how the industry learns, operates, and grows — always with a focus on raising the bar for professionalism and practical excellence.
