REIV and REEF Partner to Strengthen Employment Standards Across Australia’s Real Estate Industry

MEDIA RELEASE

The Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV) and Real Estate Employers’ Federation (REEF) have announced a new partnership that reinforces the aim to strengthen employment knowledge, compliance, and capability across Victoria’s real estate sector.

The partnership will see REEF deliver a series of employment-focused sessions, including regional roadshows and a flagship Agency Leaders forum in Melbourne, providing REIV members with direct access to leading workplace relations expertise.

The collaboration comes at a time of increasing complexity in real estate employment, with ongoing legislative changes placing greater pressure on agency owners and operators to remain compliant.

REIV COO Megan Mander said the partnership reflects a commitment to delivering meaningful, practical value to members.

“Employment is one of the most important and complex areas for real estate businesses today,” Ms Mander said.

“By partnering with REEF, we are ensuring our members have access to trusted expertise and the latest guidance, helping them navigate change and operate with confidence.”

REEF engaged with over 3,000 real estate employers, principals, and senior leaders across Australia last year, and is recognised as the national authority on workplace relations for the industry.

Through the partnership, REEF and REIV will deliver a coordinated program of:

  • Regional roadshows across key Victorian centers

  • A dedicated Agency Leaders session in Melbourne

  • Contributions to broader industry forums, including anti-money laundering discussions, where it relates to employment

  • Targeted webinars supporting both new and established agency businesses

The sessions will focus on practical, real-time challenges facing agencies, including award compliance, employment structures, legislative updates, and workforce management.

“Victoria represents one of our largest and most engaged membership bases, and this partnership allows us to further support employers on the ground,” said REEF CEO Bryan Wilcox.

“Employment in real estate is becoming more complex, not less. Our role is to ensure employers across Australia are informed, compliant, and confident, and partnerships like this are critical to delivering that at scale.”

The announcement underscores REEF’s growing national footprint, with established relationships across multiple state-based institutes and a continued focus on supporting employers through education, advisory, and industry engagement.

“This is part of a broader national approach,” Mr Wilcox said.

“We are committed to supporting real estate employers across all states, ensuring consistency, clarity, and capability as the industry continues to evolve.”
