Good Friday Appeal Charity House Auction Returns with Award-Winning Auctioneer Paul Tzamalis

MEDIA RELEASE

The Good Friday Appeal (GFA) charity house auction, one of the highlights of the auctioneering calendar, is set to return this April. With esteemed three-time REIV Senior Auctioneer of the Year Paul Tzamalis returning to grab the gavel, this year’s auction is set to be the biggest blockbuster yet, raising money for The Royal Children’s Hospital.

With previous Good Friday Appeal auctions conducted by Paul being hit successes, collecting $1,082,000 in 2022 and a record $1,150,500 in 2025, this year’s event will again attempt to up the ante. All eyes are now set on a record payday, with all proceeds donated to The Royal Children's Hospital.

This year’s prize auction home is a knockout by Henley, a two-storey Lancaster 440-D47 sitting on a 448sqm lot in the growth suburb of Tarneit, situated in Melbourne's fast-growing western suburbs. With an eye-catching Monroe façade and located in Villawood’s vibrant Alamora community, the home showcases the very best of Henley’s family-friendly design, thoughtful inclusions, and their collective community spirit.

Paul, whose triple win complements his REIV Master Auctioneer title, holds this auction close to his heart. The recent arrival of his firstborn, Elias, has made the cause even more personal, and Paul said it has deepened his appreciation for the vital work supported by the Good Friday Appeal and delivered through The Royal Children’s Hospital.

“As a parent, you know how important access to The Royal Children’s Hospital services is,” he says. It has always been an essential safety net for families, and that perspective never leaves you. Calling this auction is something I take incredibly seriously.”

“This is about families, generosity and backing an institution that has been there for generations of Victorians,” Paul said.

As a proud supporter of the GFA, the REIV applauds the commitment of the entire Henley and Villawood teams for the work they do year on year to make a difference for all Victorian families, added Toby Balazs, REIV CEO.

The home will be auctioned on Friday, 3 April (Good Friday) at 2:00 pm.
