The Sale of Land Act regulates the sale and subdivision of land throughout Victoria. It sets conditions for disclosure for vendors when conducting conveyancing transitions through contracts the sale land and optioning the purchase of residential property.

Stakeholders include estate agents, members of the public, vendors, buyers, surveyors and insurance companies.

Sale of Land (Public Auctions) Regulations 2014

The Sale of Land (Public Auctions) Regulations 2014 are to sunset on the 24th June 2024. The Department of Government Services has determined that the regulatory impact of the current regulations is minimal and that the regulations may be remade in a substantially similar form to the current regulations.

Following consultation with the REIV Auction Committee and representatives of related chapter committees, the REIV has drafted a proposal for consideration.
