Wantirna is located 23 km east of the CBD. Located between the Dandenong Creek and the Burwood Highway Wantirna is a primarily residential suburb in the outer east of Melbourne. The suburb is dominated by older families and the area is set to age substantially over the next ten years. It already has a large number of aged care facilities including the Salford Park retirement community. The suburb also features the Knox Private Hospital and Koomba Park which follows the Dandenong Creek.
