Selby is located 40 km east of the CBD. Situated in Melbourne's eastern fringe Selby (incorporating Menzies Creek) is a small rural and residential suburb. The area is bounded by the Dandenong Ranges National Park in the north and Wellington Rd in the south. A high proportion of the area's labour force is employed in the community services and wholesale and retail trade sectors. The suburb also features Black Hill Reserve and the Puffing Billy Railway.
