It is currently undergoing significant population growth on the tail of the rapid residential development. This area encompasses Caroline Springs and Burnside areas that will have substantial populations of their own by 2001. The western side of Hillside remains rural and rural-residential living. The suburb also features the Ravenhall Golf Driving Range.
