Hallam is located 34 km south-east of the CBD. Located on Melbourne's south-eastern fringe Hallam has experienced signficant population growth over the last fifteen years. A high proportion (29%) of Hallam's labour force is employed in the manufacturing sector and the area has developed a significant industrial belt in the south-west of the suburb. Hallam also features the Gunn Road Reserve while the Pakenham railway line and Princes Hwy traverse the area.
