Glenroy is located 13 km north of the CBD. Glenroy is a large suburb in Melbourne's outer north. Like a number of suburbs in this part of Melbourne the population has decreased and aged significantly over the 1981-1996 period. Glenroy is principally residential in its land use but also features the Northern Golf Glub a commercial district centred on the railway station and the Northern Memorial Park. Much of the population is employed in manufacturing and the wholesale and retail trade sectors.
