Epping is located 20 km north of the CBD. Epping has been one of the fastest growing new suburbs in Melbourne over the last twenty years. It has been one of the major areas of new residential development in the Plenty corridor north of Melbourne. The su burb has a young age structure dominated by families with more than three-quarters of the population aged between 0-17 and 25-49. The suburb also features the terminus of the suburban railway line the Epping Plaza Shopping Centre the Northern Hospital Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE - Epping Campus.
