Cranbourne is located 43 km south-east of the CBD. Cranbourne is one of the older settlements located in the Melbourne's south-eastern growth corridor. It is the terminus of the suburban railway line from Dandenong and is the last major suburb on the South Gippsland Highway before reaching Gippsland. The suburb boasts a significant commercial area along High St including the Cranbourne Park Shopping Centre. Cranbourne also features the Cranbourne Racecourse and Recreation Reserve and the Amstel Golf Club.
