Navigating the 25 November Rental Reforms
Rental Reforms Unpacked
After a full-house conference on Victoria’s upcoming rental reforms, the REIV is continuing to support the sector with a dedicated webinar series designed to keep Property Managers informed and prepared.
Major reforms to the Residential Tenancies Act will come into effect on 25 November 2025, and the REIV has been working closely with policymakers and Consumer Affairs Victoria—providing industry feedback and advocating for targeted training as these changes take shape.
Following the commencement of the reforms, the REIV will host a series of webinars to give Victorian Property Managers an early understanding of the new requirements and their practical implications.
Join any session with your team to access the latest information ahead of time, with further training opportunities to follow.
Key changes effective 25 November 2025 include:
Extending the notice period for rent increases and notices to vacate from 60 to 90 days.
Banning certain businesses from charging fees for rental applications.
Prescribing the information rental providers or agents can request from rental applicants—and the limited circumstances under which information may be disclosed.
Introducing a standard application form.
Prescribing additional matters to be considered in rent increase reviews
Why attend?
These reforms will significantly reshape Victoria’s rental landscape. With Regulations expected only weeks before commencement, these webinars offer the earliest opportunity to understand the new framework and begin preparing your team.
