Nominations for Division Committees and the call for expressions of interest in Chapter Committees now open  

As per the REIV Constitution and By-laws, the process for appointing The REIV Chapter and Regional Division Committees is now open.

The term: Committees will be appointed for the period 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2026.

Nominations: Expressions of Interest (EOI) for Chapter Committees and Nominations for Regional Division Committees must be submitted to the Returning Officer (returningofficer@reiv.com.au) by 5:00pm Friday 1 November 2024.

CPD Requirements: All Division and Chapter Committee members are required to comply with annual CPD hours requirements to maintain their committee membership. This includes completion of the compulsory 2023/24 Ethics Module and achievement of at least 10 CPD hours in the 2023/24 CPD year of which at least 5 CPD hours were from REIV activity.

CHAPTER COMMITTEES

You are eligible to submit an expression of interest if:

  • You are a Financial Licensed or Representative Member;

  • Your REIV Member record identifies the Chapter as one of those in which you are interested;

  • You have at least 3 years’ experience and are currently active in that Chapter’s specialist area; and

  • You comply with REIV CPD requirements.

Expressions of interest must be submitted using the Form provided and returned by email to returningofficer@reiv.com.au by 5:00pm on 1 November 2024.

REGIONAL DIVISION COMMITTEES

Please refer to the Information Statement for election details and eligibility criteria. The completed Nomination Form, Candidate Profile Form must be returned by email to the Returning Officer returningofficer@reiv.com.au by 5:00pm Friday 1 November 2024.

REIV Chapters & Divisions

On joining the REIV, Members are assigned to the Metropolitan or a Regional Division based on their office location and can join as many Chapters that are of interest to them. 

Division and Chapter affiliations support relevant communication on such matters as events, training and development and policy.

Chapter and Division Committees provide focal points for REIV engagement with Members to ensure that REIV services and policy priorities meet the needs of Members wherever they are located and whatever their particular interests.

Chapter and Division Committee members have an opportunity to:

  • Engage with their peers

  • Share their views on issues, challenges, opportunities

  • Input to the development of REIV services

  • Contribute to the development of REIV policy

  • Play a part in shaping their sector/division, the real estate industry as a whole and REIV services

  • Learn – for example; about their sector/division, wider real estate industry, corporate governance, committee operation.

REIV Chapters

Special interest groups providing Members with opportunities to engage with like-minded professionals and enabling the REIV to engage with Members on matters of particular relevance to them.

REIV Divisions

Divisions provide a geographic focus for the achievement of the REIV’s objects as set out in the Constitution and the Mission and Strategic objectives determined by the Board.

Chapter Committees

Chapter Committees are appointed by the REIV Board following calls for expressions of interest from Licensed and Representative Members every two years. Additional Members can be appointed by the REIV Board on recommendation by the Committee. The role of Chapter Committees is to:

  1. Contribute to the development and relevance of REIV product and service offerings by:

    • Highlighting issues and opportunities of particular interest to their Chapter

    • Identifying topics and participants for REIV Chapter specific and wider events.


  2. Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in support of REIV:

    • Advocacy and representation,

    • Training and professional development,

    • Good practice,

    • Documentation.

Division Committees

Division Committees are elected by the members of their Division every two years. Their purpose is to:

  • Represent their Divisional Members’ interests to the REIV

  • Provide the conduit for REIV policy and practice consultations and the dissemination of information and advice

  • Identify issues and opportunities specifically affecting their geographical area and alert and liaise with the REIV in addressing them

  • Actively consult with their Division members on local and REIV matters

  • Organise Division events, whether debates, seminars, workshops, training, CPD, social and philanthropic

  • Promote REIV products and services

  • Encourage REIV membership
