Advisory Boards

Stronger voice for every Member

Stronger voice for every Member

From 1 January 2027, the REIV is introducing two new ways for members to shape our advocacy: five specialist Advisory Boards, replacing the previous chapter committee structure, and a bi-annual Industry Forum open to every member.

Why we're changing

Our membership has never been more diverse, and the laws our members work under are changing on several fronts at once. New underquoting laws commence on 1 October 2026, rental reform continues to reshape property management, the Owners Corporations Act is under formal review and retail leasing settings are evolving. Each needs its own expert voice.

Key Dates

12 Oct 2026: EOIs open

3 Nov 2026: EOIs close, 5pm

Nov 2026: REIV Board makes appointments

1 Jan 2027: Advisory Boards commence

What Advisory Boards do

In conjunction with the purpose outlined in the current chapter committee charters the Advisory Boards provide industry expertise, member insight and specialist advice to REIV management and the REIV Board. Members:

  • provide subject matter expertise across advocacy, professional development, industry best practice and member resources

  • identify emerging issues, risks and opportunities in their specialisation

  • contribute to the development of REIV products, services and events

  • recommend improvements to REIV forms, tools and services

The Industry Forum: open to every member

Twice a year, the Industry Forum brings members together to contribute to and influence the REIV's advocacy priorities. Every REIV member is welcome. At each forum:

  • The CEO and President report on REIV strategy and advocacy

  • A delegate from each advisory board shares its work and the emerging issues in its field

  • REIV Board members attend to hear directly from members
