90 Years Young

Since 1936, REIV has grown alongside the profession it serves. In 2026, we're 90 Years Young: proud of where we’ve been and focused on what’s next. See how an institute founded in 1936 became the profession's peak body, and why it's still 90 Years Young.

In 1936, Victoria's real estate professionals decided their industry needed a body that would train them, represent their interests and hold the profession to a standard. They called it the Real Estate and Stock Institute.

Ninety years on, that institute is still here, and it hasn't slowed down. From the first Institute Ball to Vicforms 2.0, each decade has added something new while keeping the same purpose: to enhance the professional excellence of our members for the benefit of the communities they work within, and to advocate and represent their interests.

The Institute hasn't just lasted ninety years. It has innovated and led the way through constant change. That's what 90 Years Young means to us. Scroll through the decades to see how we got here.
