Foundation Years

  • 1936 – Establishment of Real Estate and Stock Institute.
  • 1936 – Real estate education begins at RESI headquarters.
  • 1938 – First Real Estate and Stock Journal published, now the EA.
1940s

Community and Connection

  • 1940 – First Institute Ball held.
1950s

Industry Gathering

  • 1958 – First Convention held, now the REIV Annual Conference.
1960s

Growth and Recognition

  • 1961 – Individual membership introduced.
  • 1964 – Novice Auctioneering Competition launched.
  • 1964 – REIV joins FIABCI, the International Real Estate Federation.

  • 1974 – First auction seminar held.

  • 1981 – First “Buying a Home” course held.
  • 1985 – RESI and REAA merge to form REIV.
