Craigieburn houses star for price growth

Craigieburn is a star performer for median house price growth as demand soars for homes in Melbourne’s outer suburbs.

Latest data from the Real Estate Institute of Victoria reveals the median house price rose 6.6 per cent to $565,000 in the standout northern suburb last year.

The top 20 Melbourne suburbs for median house price growth were all in the outer ring, including Mernda, where the price rose 7.6 per cent to $592,750, and Doreen which recorded a price jump of 6.6 per cent to $624,500.

REIV president Robyn Waters said despite low confidence and sluggish auction clearance rates, homeowners were getting good prices for their homes when they did sell.
