The premium parents are paying for Box Hill High School zone

Parents are willing to pay an almost $86,000 house price premium to live in the coveted Box Hill High School zone, new data shows.

The median house price in the esteemed public school’s catchment area sits at $1,285,750, a staggering $85,750 more than the $1.2 million median price for a home within a 1km radius outside the zone, the Real Estate Institute of Victoria found.

Local agents say families have been willing to pay the hefty sum for the past five years thanks to the school’s impressive VCE performance.
