Unique Student Identifier (USI)

The Commonwealth Government has mandated through Section 14 of the Student Identifiers Act (2014) the implementation of the USI (Unique Student Identifier) for all accredited vocational training.

The USI is a reference number made up of ten numbers and letters that:
- Create a secure online record of your recognised training and qualifications gained in Australia, from all training         providers you undertake recognised training with;
- Will give you access to your training records and transcripts;
- Can be accessed online, anytime and anywhere;
- Is free and easy to create; and
- Stays with you for life

All students enrolling in, or continuing nationally recognised training, must obtain a USI in order to receive their qualification or statement of attainment. Students who do not have a USI will not be able to enrol into a nationally recognised training course with REIV.

The USI will provide access to an online record of the training a person has done since 1 January 2015 and allow them to produce a comprehensive transcipt of their training. This can be used when applying for a job, seeking a credit transfer or demonstrating pre-requisites when undertaking further training.

Should you have any questions on the USI or require assistance in applying, please contact the REIV Learning & Development Team on 9205 6666 or [email protected]
