Economic Forecast Lunch - Interest Rates, Elections & Economic Shifts 2025

A range of dynamic and significant economic and political factors are influencing financial markets, making it challenging to gauge the potential impact on real estate.

At the REIV 2025 Economic Forecast Lunch, we’re bringing together top-tier economic minds to unpack what lies ahead for the Victorian real estate market. With interest rate predictions changing, global trade tensions rising, and federal elections, this event offers rare access to expert views and in-depth analysis tailored to the property industry.

Hear from “people in the know” including Mark Chambers of the Reserve Bank of Australia, Kate Bailey of CBRE, CoreLogic’s Tim Lawless, and Emma Salik of AUSTRAC, as they tackle the big picture and dive into how it will affect you - from macroeconomic drivers and financial policy to property performance and investment strategies across office, retail, and residential markets.

Expect a comprehensive update on:

 •  Global Economic Outlook: Mark Chambers, will share the RBA perspective on the global economic environment, potential impact of US trade tariffs, and the future of interest rates.

 •  Commercial Property Trends: Get a detailed, data-driven analysis of Victoria’s commercial market and how key macroeconomic trends are influencing demand, performance, and opportunity.

  •  Property Data: Tim Lawless, CoreLogic will reveal what’s next for residential and commercial markets, focusing on what’s on the horizon for global economics.
