Allan Sparkes

An eye opening address on developing mental resilience to succeed in the real estate profession. Resilience is defined as “the ability to recover quickly, “bounce back”, from difficulties and challenges”. Real estate is widely acknowledged as a highly demanding and stressful profession; learn strategies to better manage these challenges.

Allan Sparkes is one of Australia's most highly decorated citizens. He is one of only five Australians in the past 42 years to be awarded Australia's highest bravery decoration and civil award, the Cross of Valour for saving the life of a drowning child trapped in a storm water pipe system. In August 2016 he was further awarded Australia's 4th highest bravery decoration, The Commendation for Brave Conduct for saving the life of an aboriginal man who had fallen onto the path of an oncoming train at Redfern Railway Station in Sydney. In January 2017, Allan was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for service to mental health support organisations and the community. His life story is extraordinary. He is also a sailor who has crossed the globe, a survivor of PTSD and a best-selling author with Penguin Books.

Allan's personal lived experiences has allowed him to develop into a passionate and dedicated mental wellness advocate who believes a proactive and holistic approach to mental health is critical to manage the stressors of todays professional and personal demands.

Leadership without rank

Leadership is action, not position.
If you think of leadership as the ability to influence the thoughts and behaviours of others (which it is), then it is clear that a title doesn’t separate leaders from non-leaders.

From working with the bodyguard team of Nelson Mandela in South Africa to being listed by Business Review Weekly as one of Australia’s top ten professional speakers, Rob Redenbach has travelled the world helping mangers to become leaders. Drawing from experiences that range from taking part in drug raids with the FBI in Los Angeles and providing risk management services to aid-workers in Iraq and Afghanistan, Rob provides powerful insights into leadership and resilience.
