New CTRS Regulations - A Discussion

The government recently released the new regulations for the Commercial Tenancy Relief Scheme (CTRS). Titled “COVID-19 Omnibus (Emergency Measures) (Commercial Leases and Licences) Miscellaneous Amendments Regulations 2020”, the Regulations update and extend the CTRS to 31 December 2020.
 
It is important for Agents to understand the changes included in these Regulations as they impact rent negotiation rules and processes. Please join us for an online discussion where representatives from the REIV Commercial & Industrial Chapter Committee will address the key updates in the Regulations. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions, share experiences and learnings. The meeting will be hosted by REIV Vice President and Past President Richard Simpson who represents the REIV on the CTRS Code Administration Committee.

Richard Simpson, Partner, W.B. Simpson & Son
Richard Simpson is a partner in W. B. Simpson & Son, a family real estate business situated in North Melbourne with over 140 years of history. As a Principal in a business that sells and leases both residential & commercial property, Richard has developed an excellent understanding of the major issues facing the real estate industry today.

Richard provides extensive input into the REIV and has previously served as Chair of the REIV Commercial & Industrial Chapter Committee. Richard was elected to the Board of the REIV in 2015. Currently holding the office as Vice President, Richard has previously served as President and Senior Vice President as well.

Bill offers 35 years of property management experience, insight and knowledge of Melbourne’s suburban commercial property market.
 
He is currently a committee member on the Commercial and Industrial chapter of the REIV, seeking to engage with fellow agents and assist where possible so that members have the most up to date information on legal issues, trends and insights to achieve best practice.
