Preparing for the RTA

Details

The REIV has been working directly with Government on the RTA Amendments from the initial design stages through to development of the Regulations.

Although we may not support all the amendments that are now in the Act, the REIV is now focused on ensuring that the Victorian real estate sector is well prepared to effectively implement the Regulations as they come into effect.

We have been successful in delaying the implementation date to help the sector manage the impact of the pandemic. It is now time for Victorian real estate professionals to focus on the Act and the Regulations. The Residential Tenancies Amendment Bill and the Regulatory Impact Statement are no longer relevant.

REIV training on the RTA will commence with an online course delivered by REIV President Leah Calnan, Vice President Sophie Lyon and CEO Gil King.
