The REIV Auction competitions have been setting standards in Victorian real estate for over 50 years. Iconic industry figures like Barry Plant, Peter Hawkins, Peter Batrouney and many others have competed in the REIV Auction competitions, progressing to build enviable reputations in the industry. With the 2020 competitions not far, we have invited some of our recent winners to discuss what the competitions have meant to their careers.

Luke is a property consultant and auctioneer with Woodards Blackburn. Competitive by nature Luke thrives under competition conditions. With six years of auctioneering experience he is always looking for opportunities to expand his skill set, one of the main reasons for competing. Luke is a former REIV Novice Auctioneer of the Year, two-time REIV Senior Auctioneer of the Year and 2019 Australasian Auctioneering Championship Finalist.

Adrian has been teaching and mentoring auctioneers since 1996. His auctioneering skills are well-renowned across the country. Adrian has been a member of the REIV’s Auction Chapter, founded the Young Agents Chapter and was Director of the REIV. Adrian's auctioneering has allowed him to represent many community and charitable organisations like the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal House Auction which Adrian has done 12 times over the last 25 years. For the last 15 years Adrian has lead the team at Compton Green, a leading inner west independent agency

Peter Kakos,

In his 26th in real estate, Peter is one of the most awarded auctioneers in Victoria. Along the way, he’s also coached and trained five novice auction champions to success as well as an Australasian Auctioneering Champion. Today, Peter is Head of Victoria for The Agency and conducts 3-4 auctions every weekend on average.  Peter’s intimate knowledge of the auction system is invaluable conducting auctions in every conceivable market be it on-site or in rooms.
