Cam Steele is a partner in HWL Ebsworth's commercial team. She has over 14 years' experience specialising in corporate and commercial transactions (including M&A and equity raisings) but has a particular focus on Australia's foreign investment regime.
Cam advises clients across a wide range of industries on the application of the FIRB regime to proposed transactions by foreign investors, including in relation to securities, business and property acquisitions. Her work includes advising on the practicalities of obtaining, and complying with the conditions of, FIRB approval for such transactions. In the residential property space, Cam's FIRB team advises on transactions ranging from single dwelling acquisitions, through to land acquisitions by foreign developers for large-scale residential developments and exemption certificates to enable developers to sell off-the-plan apartments to foreign buyers.
