Residential and commercial rental properties are being used by organised crime syndicates to set up lucrative Cannabis Crop Houses around Victoria. Extensive damage is caused to these properties, and extreme danger is involved with the electrical wiring systems used and the excessive heat generated by the methods deployed.
Victoria Police Detective Sergeant, Matt Davey will provide an overview for property managers to help prevent landlords falling victim to this form of organised crime, covering:
- What a Cannabis Crop House looks like
- Criminal methodology
- Electrical use and dangers
- Impacts and damage caused to properties
- Residential tenancy applications and what to look for
- Social and economic impacts on real estate
- What you can do to help detect suspicious activity.
The event will conclude with an interactive Q&A session.
Sabina Aldouby of Luxe Property and REIV Property Management Chapter Committee Chair will MC the event.
