Leadership - Not a OSFA Approach

Details

It is a privilege to observe a successful leader. If you’ve been lucky enough to come across some, you may have noted that there is no “One Size Fits All” approach to leadership. There are many facets and many approaches. The 2022 REIV Future Leaders Forum brings together three successful business leaders who have each built their unique style in different working environments. The speakers will share their individual career journeys and their views on how to be a successful leader and create a rewarding workplace culture.

Co-founder and former Managing Director of Jellis Craig, Richard Jellis, will provide an overview on how, since its inception in 1992, the Jellis Craig business has grown to become one of Victoria’s strongest real estate brands. Richard will discuss the characteristics of the business that he believes formed the firm’s successful culture. He will talk about his own leadership style and strategies to get the best out of your team.

Bailey White of Nicholas Lynch will talk about his journey in real estate and the factors that were the biggest contributors to his early success.

As State Segment Head for Real Estate at Macquarie, Sally O'Connell will present the business case for wellness, diversity, equity and inclusion. Real estate businesses today often face the challenge of attracting and retaining talent. Businesses willing to invest into initiatives designed to improve mental health and wellness, have been shown to out-perform their peers while attracting and retaining the best talent. Sally will share her experiences in real estate and how Macquarie has adopted a workplace culture of diversity, equity and inclusion. She will also provide her perspective on successful leadership from her experience working in both the banking and real estate sectors.

Following their presentations, all speakers will participate in a panel/Q&A session facilitated by REIV CEO, Quentin Kilian, who will MC the event.
