2022 and Beyond; the Economy and the Property Market

The annual REIV Economic Forecast Lunch returns as the debate about the real impact of COVID on the Australian economy continues to dominate board rooms and lounge rooms.
The Victorian property market has recorded remarkable growth over the last 18 months. Spurred on by low interest rates, government incentives and the Australian passion for bricks and mortar, the property market has underpinned some of the strong economic metrics seen across the nation. The 2021 economic forecast discussion will focus on what lies ahead. Can the property sector maintain this growth rate into the future? What impact will the significantly reduced migration numbers have on the wider economy? How will the changing work culture impact the commercial real estate sector?
Martin Lakos Division Director at the Macquarie Group and Tony Crabb, National Director of Research with Cushman and Wakefield, have accepted our invitation to deliver a keynote address and share their perspectives on 2021 and beyond.
Martin will talk about the national economy, areas of potential growth and the challenges that lie ahead. Tony will share his views on the future as it relates to key factors like the relationship with China, impact of technology, climate change, work culture and what this means for the future of our cities.

Key notes will delivered over a two course lunch at the RACV City Club.
