16-Jul-2009
Steven Abbott from Jellis Craig was the winner of last night’s REIV Senior Auctioneers Competition.
REIV President Adrian Jones congratulated Mr Abbott, remarking that he displayed a high degree of technical proficiency and professionalism.
“Victoria is the residential auction capital of Australia and people expect not only an interesting auction but one that gets the best return possible for the owner.
“As a result of last night’s performance I have high hopes for Mr Abbott as he competes to become the best auctioneer in Australia and New Zealand along with runner up Michael Choi from McDonald Real Estate,” Mr Jones concluded.
The REIV conducts a yearly competition to find the best novice and senior auctioneers in Victoria. The purpose of this competition is twofold, it helps estate agents to develop and improve their skills and secondly allows the industry to highlight the skills needed to conduct a successful auction and achieve the highest return for the vendor.
Entrants are judged by some of our most experienced auctioneers in Victoria on their understanding of the laws and regulations that relate to property transactions along with their ability to professionally run the auction and present the property.
This year’s finalists were Steven Abbott of Jellis Craig, Michael Choi of McDonald Real Estate Keysborough Pty Ltd, Ryan Di Natale of Love Real Estate, Sam Gamon of Chisholm & Gamon, Matt Leonard of Tweed Sutherland First National and John Matthews of Barry Plant (Essendon).
