This course is made up of 24 units of competency (three of which are the units prescribed for the Agent’s Representative course). Each of these units has a written assessment that needs to be completed to a competent standard before a statement of attainment can be awarded. There are no exams.
Students can enrol in the full course, or in individual units. There are no educational or experience pre-requisites. Students embarking on a career in real estate who wish to apply for a full licence can enrol in this course, undertake their Agent’s Representative units first and complete the balance of units over 12 months. Anyone applying for a licence in Victoria will need to demonstrate competency in all 24 units of the licensing course, 12 months experience as an Agent’s representative and be 18 years of age. Full details of the eligibility criteria can be found on the Business Licensing Authority website.
Each of the 24 units within the licensing course is scheduled to run at the REIV every 8-10 weeks and students have the flexibility of selecting which of these scheduled classes to attend over a 12 month period. Classes are held at the Camberwell office of the REIV and are run during working hours. In addition to the scheduled classes, students also have the capacity to study all, or any of these units by Distance Education. DE info | DE courses
