Agent's Representative Course

Presented by industry professionals, this course will furnish you with the entry-level qualifications required to work in real estate.

The first step in establishing a real estate career is to become an agent’s representative. Agent’s representatives perform a variety of real estate roles under the supervision of a licensed estate agent.

In order to commence employment as an agent’s representative you must meet the following requirements of the Business Licensing Authority (BLA). If you have any queries on the following requirements please contact the BLA on 1300 135 452.

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have a registered address in Victoria.
• Pass the prescribed course, for which the REIV provides training.
• Obtain an authority to act signed by the principal of the agency you will represent.
• Present a police check not more than six months old.
• Provide a Statutory Declaration confirming your eligibility to practice real estate.
• Have your employer register you with the Business Licensing Authority.

This is a comprehensive course and students should expect intensive study modes and after-class reading.

If you are already employed in the industry (in administration, for example), we recommended you enrol in the full-time course, which is run over five days (9am−5pm). Part-time evening courses of five weeks’ duration are also available (two evenings per week). The course can also be completed by Distance Education over a 6 month (or less) period.

Where?
The Agent's Representative contact courses are held at the REIV 335 Camberwell Road Camberwell or by Distance Education at your own pace. We also offer regional courses in Ballarat, Bendigo and Geelong.

Our Box Hill course is held at The Pavillion at Box Hill City Oval, Corner Whitehorse and Middleborough Roads, Box Hill.

Outcomes
Successful completion of this course will result in participants' meeting education eligibility requirements for entry into the industry as an agent's representative.

After successful completion of the Agent's Representative Course at the REIV you will have access to:

• REIV Member Only job advertisements
• The opportunity to post your resume on the REIV's Member web site, available to over 85 per cent of all Victorian estate agent offices.

Who should attend?
People who are 18 years of age or older and meet other requirements for eligibility as stated by the Estate Agents Act.
